Christ is the craftsmen, we are His tools. Let's take the limits off of Him and allow ourselves to be used to produce miracles.

Word of Art – Works!

Here are some results of Word of Art scripture interpretations that happened a while back.

The idea is similar to the practice of “inkblots.”  But, instead of starting with an obscure image we start with (1) a word; we then (2) find scripture that somehow addresses that word, and then we (3) interpret our gut reactions to that scripture.  In the future, we’ll include the scripture instead of just the word:

Abandonment (scripture interpreted via sculpy)

Ensuing conversation between the maker of this sculpture and another artist.

“Is it supposed to be Christ?” one of the attendees asked.

“Does it look like what you imagine Christ might look like?” the sculptor prompted.

“No. Is it supposed to be human?”

“Yeah, but it doesn’t look very human, does it?”

Sorrow (scripture interpreted via commentary):

“After sorrow, you will be stronger. Even if you are sorrowful and you feel miserable, you can be strong.

For example, there was a big flood in your village.  Everything was destroyed.  Your house…destroyed.  You’ve lost everything…you have sorrow.

So, are you gonna die?

You’ll try to build a house.

Your neighbors help you.

Finally, you’ve built your new house. And, you will start a new life.

Sorrow.  It’s not just “sorrow”. It’s a chance to change. It’s a turning point.

Many people are afraid of sorrow. Some people suffer from sorrow.  They can’t be patient.

Don’t forget sorrow makes you stronger, harder.

…If you are laughing, you feel happy now;

after that, nothing changes. You just stay in the same position.”
